I thought we were due some consolidation in yields - but hot CPI has pushed yields back up. If we break to new highs, market could get disorderly....

IS THE GULF BUILDING A NEW SECURITY ORDER?

Something rather significant is now happening. Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan have not merely signed a new mutual-defence agreement. They have begun activating it. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have reopened high-level diplomatic channels despite serious disagreements over Yemen. Qatar has proposed a regional security framework that would include Iran itself. Meanwhile, China continues to deepen its economic and financial relationships across the Gulf without attempting to reproduce America's military presence.

Whilst the US is being pushed out of the region, chaos remains in place as a new security order starts to take shape. Here are 10 principal concerns to address in this regard.

1. Conflicting threat perceptions and strategic priorities

The most significant obstacle is the absence of agreement over which threats a regional security alliance should confront

2. The unresolved Israeli–Palestinian conflict

Long-Term Buying Opportunities: 7 AI Infrastructure Names to Scale Into

The market is handing long-term investors what it rarely hands out: entry points in the best AI infrastructure names. Not dips to chase β€” levels to scale into patiently. Timeframe is the edge.

$AVGO β€” The picks-and-shovels compounder. Custom AI silicon for hyperscalers plus the networking fabric inside every AI cluster. Real earnings, real margins, real buybacks. This is the bucket-1 name you scale on pullbacks and hold for years.

$MRVL β€” Interconnect is on track to become bigger than compute inside Marvell's own FY2031 framework, with a $20B FY2028 revenue target backing it. The entire fabric-shift thesis in one ticker. I hold this one.

$CRDO β€” Retimers and DSPs are the glue of AI connectivity: every faster interconnect generation needs more retiming. Optical leverage without the optical volatility. Buy weakness, not strength.

$AAOI β€” My highest-upside optical name over the next 2-3 years. $1.7B raised this year to exp

QQQs holding up relatively well given the kospi shit show. It will gap down into the PUT wall where it will likely find support

Dear All, I will be hosting this week's live stream TODAY at 9:30 pm EST

Sorry for the short heads up, hope many of you can still join

As usual, if you cannot join, please drop questions or topics you want me to address in the dedicated chat "Questions for Dario"

The bank stocks in the US and Europe have really sold off on higher long-term yields.

Over time higher yields and a higher Fed Funds/ECB rate is good for the banks. It's why bank ROE's are so much higher in emerging markets.

I own the big European banks and my plan is to sit tight because I expect with time we will see bank earnings continue to grow and beat expectations.

$MP and the bet on Magnets
If you look up charts of demand for magnets you'll notice one thing, even the most conservative projects or estimates show an incredible demand for them with a massive shortage in supply. It's hard to find another material that has this kind of demand especially if you are bullish on the future with electric and hybrid vehicles, wind energy, and humanoid robots.

Currently the biggest market and demand is from electric vehicles through 2030 but if you expand the time horizon another decade to 2030 to 2040 you are looking at a market even larger with humanoid robots.

Elon Musk is wild with his estimates but the amount of humanoids he expects that we'll see by 2040 (10 billion robots) would 186x time the global supply of magnet production and make $MP 20x (would be nice but Elon is quite aggressive on the claims).

Bullish outlooks expect magnet demand to grow 84% by 2035 in just it's base case. 147% if humanoids become a thing.

Oil Up, Broader Market Held OK

Change of character? Not really.

Aside from obvious energy, sectors with positive breadth were Consumer Staples, Financials, Utilities, and Real Estate.

Despite oil up and $NDX (techs/semis) down, $SPX was about break-even, because laggard sectors with many oversold stocks had just an oversold bounce. These sectors will not lead the next bull move, IMO.

$SMR cash covers a large share of the market cap, there's no debt, and one signed contract could re-rate the stock. You'd be buying a core nuclear and AI-power theme at a fraction of its highs. Sentiment looks washed out, which is often where entries are made.

🚨$NFLX β€” $70.30

Trading setup

Broke down from $80 in September, flushed to $66.50, now bouncing on three green daily candles with RSI at 37.

upside targets from $70.30

$71–72 β€” first hurdle, the late-September shelf where it based before flushing to $66.50.

$73–74 β€” next congestion zone, thin but real supply overhead.

$75.60–77.87 β€” the 50/100ma wall. This is where relief bounces usually end unless volume expands.

$80 β€” the September breakdown point. Reclaiming it flips the structure from repair to recovery.

$72 is a bounce target; $75+ needs a trend change. Same discipline as always β€” partial into strength on the way up, because every one of these levels gets heavier.

MARKET update for coming week

CPI decides the macro. Earnings decide the micro. Friday brings the verdict.

Next week is an information-heavy week for the US market. Three things matter most: inflation, earnings quality, and the 10-year Treasury yield hovering near 5.3%.

MONDAY β€” Columbus Day

Stocks are open, bond markets are closed. Expect potentially thinner liquidity. Don’t chase the opening move.

TUESDAY β€” Big Banks Kick Off Earnings

JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and Wells Fargo deliver the first major read on bank health, credit quality and consumer resilience in a high-rate environment.

WEDNESDAY β€” CPI: THE MAIN EVENT

The inflation report could determine the market’s next direction.

β€’ Cooler core inflation: supports the disinflation narrative and risk appetite.

β€’ Hotter core inflation: strengthens the higher-for-longer rate outlook.

The monthly core CPI number will be especially important.

THURSDAY β€” Growth + AI Demand

PPI, retail sales, jobless claims and regional manufacturing surveys
