Materials, Nuclear, and Quantum the big winners Looks like from everything being watched on the sector and watchlist these have been the big winners. All seem somewhat related as you need rare earth materials for Nuclear, and you need materials for Quantum. I don't know if Quantum right now is the highest speculative play and highest beta trade which is why it's taking off right now or if there's some progress and narrative changes that means it might still be early to hop on the momentum. Massive Rally, Slice Portfolio up 4% and happy to be wrong with further deviation Q1 was a tough year for trading and there was a lot of directions the markets could have gone. Per usual it picks the most ridiculous path which is to just run it all back in a very short amount of time. Obviously so many ways now in hindsight to have played it perfectly but perfect doesn't exist in trading. My strategy with following the 2022 fractal and leaning more bearish was that if it was to play out (still can) I didn't want to lose money. If we got upside and I was wrong, like what's happening, I wanted to still make money and we are now with a lot of strong rallies. The goal: If this year is a bear market/bad year I want don't want to lose money (maintain gains). If it's a good year I want to outperform the S&P 500. Some years are for pushing the gas going heavy, some years are for surviving. First quarter of the year felt like a survive and keep the foot over the breaks. Still would rather limit upside being more cautious than full send now on this rally but I'm also happy to hop onto the momentum and ride it while it's nice. The important thing now is seeing what the markets can do and if we are in a little 2 week goldilocks window where headlines/news doesn't matter and people are piling into stocks.
