Here's Bitcoin's OBV. It shows what I've been stressing a lot, that you have to be relatively quick on selling tops but can be slow and patient on buying bottoms.

This is why it's so much harder for people to call and time tops, they happen so quick that people don't have time to react. Where as a bottom you often get multiple touches, month long consolidations/accumulations.

It's hard to not be stressing over price wanting to jump in or feeling like you are going to wake up tomorrow and it's going to be at $100k. This is the same FOMO why people weren't selling and taking profits. It's hard to handle, we all experience it, and you have to really be logical and try to think clearly to avoid falling for the obvious traps.

$BTC - Here's the big OBV dip that you actually kind of want to see at some point. It's the maximum sell off/highest volume drop that can eventually lead to a bottom or a V shape reversal.

Right now it's steep and sharp but that's how you finally shake the tree of sellers and get everyone to finally get out.

It's almost finally home to the bottom support, and it really gave no signs that it was going to reverse the whole way down.

Here's an example of how the OBV has played out on SPY on the year.

In April we got a consolidation pattern that broke out triggering a buy. Then the hard part is just holding and waiting for structure or a trend to get established.

There's a couple ways to have drawn these lines where some would have given a few more buy and sell signals but I would say on this overall trend this would be the first time OBV would be hinting or warning of downside.

Still early and not confirmation yet but so far it's leaning like this might be the first major sell signal aligning up with the price also breaking out of the channel.
